LM74721-Q1: Using LM74721 as just a load switch without using ideal diode FET.

Hello,

Is it possible to remove the ideal diode FET and connecting the anode and cathode together and only using the load disconnect as a load switch?

    Hi Keshav,

    Yes, LM7472x-Q1 can be used in Load switch only configuration as shown below. Short A and C together to the power path and leave the GATE pin floating. 

     

    May we know why you are considering using LM74721-Q1 to drive load switch FET while we have other controllers like Hotswaps which can do this job ? Is it because of the low Iq offered by the LM7472x-Q1 ?
