TPS62869: 5v for tps62869 Vin, can I use I2C to connect with 3.3V I2C bus (Controller) directly?

I have a question, I use 5v for tps62869 Vin, can I use tps62869 I2C to connect with 3.3V I2C bus (Controller) directly? or I still need a level translator to connect with?

Hi Steven,

I'm not sure that I fully understand your question. The I2C logic high/low levels are independent from the Vin voltage. You can operate the device from 5Vin and use a 3.3V I2C voltage level. Does that answer your question?

Yes, this is ok. Did you see some indication (in the D/S, etc.) that this would not work? If so, maybe I can help explain what was meant there.

No, I just didn't see anything there, so I'm not sure. If this ok, that is more simple to apply, otherwise I need to add level translator.
