TPS65262-1: Replacement for TPS65262-2

Part Number: TPS65262-1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65262-2,

Hi Experts,

Our customer is using TPS65262-2 on their board but due to the stock issues, they will be using TPS65262-1 for replacement on a design they already fabricated.

The customer would like to know since the board they are using (designed for TPS65262-2RHBT) has all 3 enable (EN1,EN2,EN3) signals floating and they will like to mount TPS65262-1RHBT in same place of TPS65262-2RHBT will this be a problem for TPS65262-1RHBT which supports power sequencing? In addition, the Mode pin by default are pulled high.

Kindly let me know your feedback on using TPS65262-1RHBT instead of TPS65262-2RHBT in the same PCB.

I could provide the schematic if needed.

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hi Marvin,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please send us the schematic? Thanks!

  • Hi Marvin,

I have concluded difference between TPS65262-1 and TPS65262-2. Please kindly find it shown below:

Since EN signals of TPS65262-2 are all floating, I think customer do not need different start up sequence right? However, if MODE pin of TPS65262-1 is pulled high, it means that it will be powered up/down with automatic sequence.

Moreover, If MODE pin of TPS65262-2 by default are pulled high, do customer must need PWM mode? It should be pointed out that TPS65262-1 can only support PSM mode. It does not have selective PWM/PSM mode.

Let me know if there is any more concern or anything unclear.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Lucia,

Thank you for this information. Another follow-up question, Could you also confirm if the customer keeps the enable pin floating in TPS65262-1RHBT will the outputs be generated?
If yes what will be the sequence? will all output be generated together?

    Thanks again!

  • Hi Marvin,

Yes,  and please first pull down the MODE pin.

Thanks! Please let us know if there is any more concern. Also make sure 3 bucks share same VIN.
