LM61460: Regarding the resistance between the output pin of the LM61460 and the GND

Part Number: LM61460

Hi team.

I manufactured a board with the attached schematic.

There is a difference in the resistance value of LM61460 "between output (TP1901/VMAIN) and GND" even though they were manufactured in the same lot.
Case A) Vmain <=> GND : 35-50ohm
Case B) Vmain <=> GND : 60k to 100kohm

Can you think of any reason for this?
Note that VMAIN outputs 5V in both cases as configured.

best regards.

  • Hi,

    From your original comment "Note that VMAIN outputs 5V in both cases as configured.", does this mean you had tested both boards (Case A and Case B) and observed that both are regulating 5V output properly?

    Resistance between VOUT/GND will depend on board layout but I would expect the resistance measurement to be in the high kOhms maybe even MOhms.

    Additionally, I just checked on a LM61460EVM and measured a output to gnd resistance in the kOhms as well.

    For Case A please double-check if there is any board layout difference and/or if the part or any surrounding parts may not be soldered on properly and making intermittent connection.

  • I haven't heard from you for some time so I assume you were able to resolve the issue on your end.

    Because of this, I will close this thread for now until further notice.
