TPS629210E: Unable to perform transienet simulation on PSPICE for TI

Part Number: TPS629210E

Hi I have a problem regarding the simulation of TPS629210E. I have connected the IC in PSPICE for TI according the schematic from page 89 of your datasheet ( TPS629210E 1-A, 3-V to 17-V, –55°C to +150°C Low IQ Buck Converter datasheet (ti.com) ), and on the output I got exponential curve 892 nV to 929 nV for simulation interval 0-3ms.

Component values are : L1=4.7uH, C2=22uF, RT=100ohm, R2=11.5k, R1=52.3k.

Transient simulation settings : Maximum step size : 100ns

Could you please advise me in terms of simulation parameters which I have to apply in order to have successful transient response?

  • Hi Leon,

I will check it and get you back next Monday.

    Thanks,

    Nancy

  • Hi Leon,

The total page of TPS629210E datasheet is 50. I could not find the schematic on page 89. But I used the default setting on the PSpice schematic and have same issue if changing max step size to 100ns. The simulation is working properly with 20ns and the behavior is expected. Usually changing max step size is not  recommended as it can lead to convergence errors or incorrect result. 100ns step is too large especially considering the 2.2MHz switching frequency which is 455ns period time. Please use 20ns to run simulation.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks,

    Nancy
