BQ25070: Mistake in Datasheet regarding CTRL pulse timing?

Part Number: BQ25070

Dear TI-Staff,

thanks for making brilliant chips. While using the BQ25070 I spotted a potential mistake in the datasheet.

The deglitch time tCTRL_DGL is incorrectly mentioned to be 50µS on page 12, second to last paragraph.

The table on page 4 says 5ms, which seems to be the correct value (at least I did not succeed in making the product work with 50µS timing)

Can you confirm / correct this in the next datasheet revision? Thanks.

Otherwise I'm really happy with the product.

- Matthias

P.S. another user asked (thread now locked) how the bq25070 behaves without a battery connected. I've tested this: the device outputs around 3.5V to a small 1µF cap and is able to power my board (around 10mA in my case)

Didn't check dynamic performance. I'm assuming that this is a valid operating point since the battery / battery cable could be defective and you'd still want your product to be working when connected to a charger.

  • Hi Matthias,

Thanks for bringing up the datasheet typo. We will go in and change this value to 5ms.

Referring to operation with the battery disconnected, this is the correct behavior. In this state the IC is operational with an adapter connected and is waiting for a battery to be reconnected to output charging current.

    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Jackson
