BQ34110EVM-796: For Lead Acid Battery.

Hi Ti

I am using bq34110EVM-796 Evaluation Module connected as below.

Using this for Lead Acid Battery. (12V@ 12AH).

Below is the problem

All of sudden Time to empty went to 3 mins,

Before at 13:12(time) it was showing 48 mins to empty

But At 13:21(time) TTE its showing as 3 mins

could you pls say why it happened (and i had set EDV_CMP and Fixed_EDV0 Bits are set High , and Fixed EDV0 is set to 1755)

Hello Ravi,

Was the capacity of the battery learned before this test?

Reference TRM section: 2.7.3 Capacity Learning (FCC Update) and Qualified Discharge

Shirish.

Yes It Had Learned, and i had performed one charge and valid discharge (VDQ) cycle. after this the (FCC) capacity got updated.

Again i had performed the 2nd cycle found this issue occurred.

Is it happened because of EDV2 Settings .

Hello RAvi,

Check if the load current was the same during both discharges. A higher load current will result in reduced capacity available from the battery.
