TPS53219A: soft start time adjustment

Hello,

Our customer has a question if TPS53219A soft start time is able to adjust to intermediate time such as 1.0ms by connecting 82k-ohm on MODE pin. Would you please let him know if TPS53219A can support such kind of soft start time by selecting a resistance on MODE.

    No.

    The MODE selection and soft-start timing in the TPS53219A is a discrete detection circuit, not an analog programming circuit.

    Selecting resistors other than those listed in the datasheet table 1 is not recommended and could result in unreliable operation of the device. 

    Selecting an 82kΩ resistor could lead to some devices powering on with a 0.7ms soft-start and others with a 1.4ms soft-start.  None of them would have a 1.0ms soft-start.
