BQ27531-G1: BQ27531-G1:

Part Number: BQ27531-G1

Hello,

In the datasheet of BQ27531-G1, there are 2 temperature to check, one is "temperature" , another is "internalTemperature" like the picture shows below.

What's the exact difference between these two temperatures? Which one is more accurate?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Dian

  • Hello Dian,

bq27531-G1 allows you to select which temperature to report in "Temperature()". See section 6.4 Temperature Measurement

It also allows temperature to be reported by host. The "Internal Temperature" can be read by the host during evaluation or later stages for any purpose.

After calibration, the temperature sensor closest to the battery is always going to be most accurate for gauging purposes.

We recommend an external sensor that is closely coupled to the battery cell (either connected to bq27531-G1 or read by host and written to bq27531-G1).
