USB-TO-GPIO2: Difference between USB-TO-GPIO and USB-TO-GPIO2

Hi Champ,

I am confirming for the customer.

May I know what is the difference between USB-TO-GPIO and USB-TO-GPIO2 ?

Is there a version requirement with UCD3xxx Device GUI for using the newer USB-TO-GPIO2 ?

Cause my customer is using version 3.0.51, it is unable to use. While it is ok after update to 3.0.77 version.

The USB-TO-GPIO2 uses a different core processor than the USB-TO-GPIO. This provides the USB-TO-GPIO2 with a range of improved functionalities that include BUS monitoring, 1MHz clock speed support, on-board burst and script modes we well as others.

The USB-TO-GPIO2 uses a different interface API than the USB-TO-GPIO, so it will require the latest version of the GUI software to recognize and interface with it.

Is there a specific Device GUI version or after a certain version that could recognize it with the USB-TO-GPIO2 ? Since my customer wants to unify all versions of Device GUI in the company that can both use USB-TO-GPIO and USB-TO-GPIO2. Also, for a tracking in the future when having a new computer to install.

Please kindly help confirm the version for my customer.

TI Always recommends using the latest revision of the FUSION Digital Power Studio

The latest version supports both the legacy USB-TO-GPIO and the new USB-TO-GPIO2

For the FUSION Digital Power Designer, the current Web release version does not support the USB-TO-GPIO2, but a new version should be available shortly that will support both.
