TPS40428: Current sharing and interleaved operation with 3 or 4 ICs

Hi team

We know that TPS40428 can support up to 4 phase with 2 ICs, but customers want to design a flexible POL module, they are using just one channel of TPS40428 and hope it can parallel with other TPS40428 modules. So I want to reach out here and check if it's OK for TPS40428?

Do you mean 3 stackable channels using 2 ICs? The answer is yes.

Thanks for your reply! No, I mean 3 or more ICs, not just 2 ICs. For example, 4x paralleled TPS40428 to achieve higher output current.

Hello, I believe the stacking is limited to 4 channels. There is only 2 bits for phase configuration.

Thanks for your reply, what if we connect all the SYNC, PHSET, ISH and COMP of 4x TPS40428? Can it accomplish current sharing? We want to know more about the detail of SYNC and PHSET function, but the info is not that much in the datasheet.

Datasheet shows limitation to 4 channels. I'm not sure at this time and will look into it and let you know once I got the info
