TPS1HB08-Q1: why there is no charge pump in the diagam

Hi Expert,

I suppose that there should be a charge pump or boost to drive the NFET, but it doesn't show in the diagram. Is there or not? May you help explain how to drive the NFET? Thanks

Hi Elec,

Yes there's a charge pump inside to drive the NFET. It's not shown in the diagram.

Hi Elec,

Sorry we can't disclose the architecture of our internal IC circuit. Wikipedia has a good illustration of how charge pump works - it's a timing of different switches to allow the charge of the capacitors. The capacitors got charged to higher voltages can deliver the high voltage to the load. However, the amount of output current is limited depending on how many stages of capacitor are there (the total power needs to be the same).
