LMZ36002: LMZ36002 impossible to purchase

Part Number: LMZ36002
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSM63602, TLVM13620

Hello Folks,

We have been using the LMZ36002 for some time now and have incorporated 2 of them into a new platform that is in prototype stage. Unfortunately, there are no components available and the brokers (who are NOT supposed to be able to purchase large quantities of these parts according to TI) are holding us hostage at $500 a chip.

My question is:

what is the predicate device or discrete component circuit that would eliminate the need for this chip until readily available in the future?

Thank you for your time!

Regards,

Art

  • Hello Art,

The only advice I have to share is recommend a device which has higher throughput in TI factories.

Tlvm13620 and TPSM63602 is being manufactured on a larger wafer in comparison to than older-gen devices and will be ramping across TI recently acquired/designed factories.

I would suggest reviewing the feasibility of this alternate component with your team.

  • Thank you for your input Marshall, much appreciated!

We have inquired about those 2 devices as well and the inventories are 0 unless you go through the brokers (which is highway robbery) this is why I was asking about a discrete component circuit to take its place.

    Regards,
    Art

  • Hello Art,

It maybe difficult for both of us to design a discrete solution witth the same type of functionality with ease. I don't have much recommendation there.

I would advise looking at the alternate devices I suggested.
