LP8866S-Q1: 14 LED in series

Dear expert,

I want to use LP8866S to support 14 LED in series. 3.3V for each LED. 14*3.3=46.2V

Max boost output of LP8866s is 48V

Is it any risk to support this scenario?

If only support 13 such kind of LED, it should be safe enough , right?

Hi, Ryan

Considering the headroom of current sink and diode voltage loss, 14LED in series may need voltage higher than 48V.

It may influence the current output, we don't suggest to use in this scenario.

For 13 LED in series, you may need to considering the worst case of LED forward voltage, normally 3.3V is a typical value.

Based on your answer, there is risk for 14*3.3V=46.2V.

If 3.3V is the worst value, then 13*3.3V=42.9V should be OK, right?

How about 44.2V，43.55V (both are worst case)?
