UCC28064A: Can I use reference design TIDA-010015 for 400Hz and three phase Input

Part Number: UCC28064A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-010015,

Hi

Can I use TIDA-010015 reference design for below Input requirment.

Input: 115VAC (Phase to neutral), Three phase, 400Hz

Output: 28VDC, 18A

Thanks

  • Hi Ripu,

I'm checking with the designer of  TIDA-010015 to get his input. Please allow a few days for a response as I am not sure of his availability right now.

    Thank you,

    Ray

  • Hi Ripu,

I spoke to the designer of the TIDA-010015 and this was his response:

From the e2e post, it is not clear if the customer wants to use this for a single phase PF and is just describing is power distribution as 115V 3phase or do they want to do a 3ph PFC.

We should be able to use UCC28064A with 3phase input but the input PF might not be great and the customer might need to play around with the input LC filters to get their desired PF. As an example attaching an image below of what the per phase input current waveform will look like if they use a 3phase bridge rectified voltage as the input to the PFC stage.

If a PF of around 0.92 is acceptable, they can take this approach. The above diagram is taking a 50Hz AC waveform but the same should be applicable for a 400Hz bus.

So, I think you need to clarify what you mean by "115VAC (Phase to neutral), Three phase"

    Ray
