PTH12000W: Light load behavior of PTH12000W

Part Number: PTH12000W

Hi,

What happens to the internal switching behavior when the load is less than 100mA, and if the external load goes from light load to normal load, will the switching stop momentarily?

Question background
When the output load of the PTH12000W is gradually increased from a light load state, the output voltage momentarily drops and the output current momentarily becomes a negative value.

Thanks,

Eevee

  • Hi Eevee,

Is there a pre-bias output voltage existing?
Is the output of the module connected to other voltages?
Can you send us the schematic of your HW?
    What is Vin?
Since this is an open frame module, can you probe the SW node (One side of the inductor) and send us the waveforms when this happens?
Does this happen on more than a single specific module?

Under normal conditions, gradual increase of load should not cause this.
There seems to be something specific about your application that triggers this behavior.
