BQSTUDIO: Cannot set terminate voltage 2800mV

Part Number: BQSTUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27421-G1,

Hi team,

My customer has been evaluating BQ27421-G1 with BQSTUDIO. However he cannot set a terminate voltage below 2900mV.

The box color changes red like the below figure. Is it possible to set terminate voltage 2800mV which my customer would like to use?

Best regards,

Shunsuke Yamamoto

  • Hello Shunsuke,

It should be ok to set Terminate Voltage to 2800 mV as long as the cell chemistry the customer is using allows it.

In the picture above I see 800mV. Anything below 2000mV is considered unsafe region for most cells which is typically where UV protection is set.

Please make sure they are setting Terminate Voltage to 2800 mV in the Data Memory tab as well.

  • Hi Jose-san,

Thank you for replying my message. The reason why it looks like 800mV is the cursur position. When the cusrsur position is left side, it would look like 280. When the cursur position is right side, it would look like 800. So 2800mV is input. Do you know any causes of it?

  • Hello Shunsuke,

The BQStudio might be taking 800mV instead of 2800mV. I tried this myself and I get a red number if I enter 800mV and it goes away if I do 2800mV.

Is the customer using the latest version of BQStudio? There are two versions (stable and test). I suggest installing both and see if the issue goes away.

    Error when 800mV

    No error when 2800mV

Please install the Test Version CLICK HERE
