TPS65988DKEVM: GPIO Event to TUSB546

Part Number: TPS65988DKEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65988DK

I noticed GPIO0 and GPIO1 of TPS65988DK are used to control TUSB546.

Could you pls tell me which GPIO events you are using in the TPS65988DK Technical Reference Manual?

  • Hi Fabio,

    Those GPIO pins/events are used for signaling when a DisplayPort device is connected or when a USB 3.0 device is connected.

    -> DisplayPort: Events 41/42, DP_Mode_Selection_Event_Port x

    -> USB3: Events 39,40, USB3_Event_Portx

    The third GPIO I highlighted (connected to  FLIP) provides USB-C cable orientation to the TUSB546.

    -> This GPIO Event is #3/4, Cable_Orientation_Event_Portx

    Here is an example of the GPIO Events within the Configuration Tool. Unfortunately, the GUI and TRM do not always share identical names for GPIO events, but they are often close enough to not be too confusing.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Chris
