TPS1HB50-Q1: How to understand Vol-off of switch disabled

Part Number: TPS1HB50-Q1

Hi Expert

the Vol=3V, the describe of switch disabled protection as below:

I don't know why Vout exceed Vol when switch disabled. because Vol just 3v but Vout=vbat more than 3v.

also, how to enable 1Mohm?

  • Meng,

For the HB series, the 1MΩ resistor is always present as it is internal. There is no way to disable it. The idea is that during the off-state with the 1MΩ internal pull-up there, if there is no open load or short to battery then the current actually going to the load through such a large resistance is negligible (in the microamp range). Most, if not all of the voltage will be dropped over the internal pull-up so you won't see a significant voltage on the output.

If there is an open load or short-to-battery, essentially the only current path available is through the open-load detection circuit. In this case, the output voltage is going to be very close to the source voltage and the open load detection is going to trigger.
