[FAQ] Does TI offer engineering model (/EM) versions of the rad-hard -SP & rad-tolerant -SEP space-grade devices?

{ANS}  For a number of our most popular QML Class-V radiation-hardened ceramic packaged devices (denoted with the -SP at the end of the part number) TI does offer engineering model ”/EM” versions and if these /EM parts are available you can find these orderable part numbers in the device specific product folders on ti.com, the engineering model orderable part numbers end in either /EM or -MPR.  See the following link for description of the test differences between an engineering model (/EM) and full QML Class-V qualified device. Note the /EM and -MPR devices are intended for use in electrical checkout only and are not recommended in actual flight.  Customers can request a limited number of samples of the /EM devices via ti.com and the sample request form can be found in the ordering and quality section of the product folders.

For our QML Class-P radiation-hardened plastic encapsulated devices (denoted with the -SP at the end of the part number) TI does not offer engineering model ”/EM” versions however we suggest that customers to use the radiation-tolerant -SEP versions of the devices for electrical checkout.

For our radiation-tolerant -SEP plastic encapsulated devices TI does not offer engineering model ”/EM” versions. Customers can request a limited number of samples of the -SEP devices via ti.com in the ordering and the sample request form can be found it the quality section of the product folders.
