LM61460-Q1: What happened if the output voltage sample resistor is very small?

Part Number: LM61460-Q1

Hello expert,
What happened if we decrease the value of the output voltage sample resistors into 9.1k(head) and 1.5k(foot)?We know that the power dissipation will increase but we think that is OK.Is there any other risk? For example, does it impact the loop compensation(FF is added)?

  • Hi Zhiyuan,

If you use a smaller resistor values, the power loss will be higher. Usually Rfbt is between 10kohm and 1Mohm. 100kohm is recommended for Rfbt. The current through the resistive divider needs to be at least 100 times as big as the feedback bias current.

The value of Cff capacitance is related to Rfbt. If you want to know more, you can refer to the following article. Thanks.
