BQ27000: bqEVSW for bq27000

Part Number: BQ27000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQEVSW

Hello,

I'm trying to diagnose problems with accupacks for our PDA (old discontinued UInitech model). They are using bq27000 as monitoring IC.

Some of them are reporting 0V in PDA software, but charging is working and in reality there are 4.2V at the battery terminals.
So charging part of the accupack is working, only monitoring part is misbehaving.

Sometimes bad connection happens between the cradle and PDA, that leads to frequent connect/disconnect and thus frequent start/stop of the charging process.
This maybe leads to "locking" of the bq itself?

Can somebody please provide me with the link to this old bqEVSW?

Thanks.

  • Hello Matej,

The bq evaluation software for bq27000 was shipped on CDs. There is no downloadable link.

If you can debug your issue by logging SBS data, then you can download any other bqEVSW and select a SBS compatible device, then go to SBS and select the values of interest for scanning/logging.

  • Hello Shirish,

    thank you for your info.
That's unfortunate it was shipped only on CDs now certainly unobtanium to get.
I will try to log some data on HDQ by sneaking wires under battery terminals in PDA, this however not solve my problem in case I needed to "unlock" status registers in this monitoring IC.
