TPS55165-Q1: Low power mode and no load current

Part Number: TPS55165-Q1

Hi,

I think the SMPS is drawing too much current when the system I designed goes into sleep mode so I want to use PS pin to swith the SMPS mode in to low power mode. I found a previous (thread) about that low power mode causes something unexpecected outcomes. But the attached thread was not answered. Is there a problem something like mentioned in attached thread?

Also I am wondering that how much current does the TPS55165 draw when there is no load?

  • Hi Egemen,

Is this already put into production? We now have released new Buck-Boost converter TPS552892 which is four-FET integrated and better performance.

TPS55165 has limitation at low power mode, max output current is 50mA. So is it possible to change the IC at present?

When the load current is 1mA, the input current is 582uA at 12Vin,5Vo.
