LM317L: dropout curve VS current

Hi expert,

can you provide the LM317L dropout curve VS current? the datasheet only tell me it is up to 2.5V.

Besides, can you provide a P2P device under TSSOP8 package? Input voltage is above 7V and less than 8V, output is 5V. current is 80mA, better to above 100mA.

I only find TL317 is p2p toLM317L and have better drop out.

so what is the max dropout for LM317. It only have 25C characters.

Hi Emma,

I looked at the different datasheets for the LM317.

Here is the dropout from the LM317L-N (100mA)

And here it is for the LM317M (500mA version)

And here it is for the LM317-N

There is some variation, but we can see that in general Vdo decreases with higher temperatures.

The LM317 family is one of the oldest devices that we have and finding data on this is quite challenging.

This data was taken at room temp.
