BQ27520-G4: Estimate remaining charging time

Hi All,

I have a query regarding the fuel gauge BQ27520-G4 .Does this fuel gauge provide the remaining time for charging
I couldn't see any direct registers/methods for calculating the remaining charging time. How can we estimate the remaining charging time . Kindly help me.

    Hello Neethu,

    Remaining charging time depends on the rate of charge. There is a CC and CV stage.

    The CC portion can be calculated by current and time. At constant voltage, a simple lookup table can help you calculate charging time. You will probably have the charging data when you did a chemistry match or learning cycle that you use to generate this table.

    Hello Neethu,

    For constant current phase the mAh is a straightforward calculation.

    In the constant voltage phase you will need to look at the charging log and graph it to get the remaining time.

    The voltage and current readings from the gauge can be used as the reference points.
