TPS63000: Peak Current Limit for Reverse Operation

Part Number: TPS63000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS63802

Hi expert,

I saw TPS63802 has Peak Current Limit for Reverse Operation of -0.9A. What is the definition of this spec? And, what is this value for TPS63000?

Thanks.

  • Hi   Di,

In PWM operation, when output voltage is higher than set one, there will be reverse current from output to input, TPS63802 limit the peak of reverse current to -0.9A.

For TPS63000, i did not find such data. sorry for that. is this data is a must one from your side?

  • I'm thinking about upgrate to TPS63802 for smaller size, but not sure if TPS63802 can sink higher current than tps63000 @ Vout=1.2V. It seems TPS63802's -0.9A is higher than TPS63000's measured -0.6A. But, TPS63802 seems can just output 1.8V as the minimum output voltage.

  • Hi  Di,

correct, the minimum output voltage of TPS63802 is 1.8V. But the -0.9A is a value of peak current limit, for averange reverse current, it should be a smaller one.
