Hello Team,

I am using the LM5109A Half Bridge Gate Driver in design. I need to calculate the current will souce by this device.

I am doing the current calculation on VDD as well as High side and Low Side control input Pins.

1. ON VDD

As per the datasheet current on VDD which is IDDO is 2.9mA.

But there is bootstrap capacitor connected to this Pin. I want to know how much this Bootstrap capacitor will draw the current from VDD Pin apart from IDDO?

2. High side and Low Side control input Pins

How much current will be drawn by Pins 2(HI) and Pin3(LI) ? Does the current on these two Pins will drawn from VDD Pin?

Also, IC peak Output Current is 1A then how the Input side total current on the VDD, HI and LI Pins will contribute.

Please let me know the answer of the above.

    Thank you for reaching out! I would recommend simulating your circuit on PSPICE for TI with the LM5109B PSPICE transient model from the LM5109B product folder page:

    Using the simulation file, you can input your specific circuit conditions to measure the current on each pin. There is almost no difference between LM5109A and LM5109B, so this simulation should provide a helpful baseline for your calculations.
