Hi Sobin,
TPS1HC100 is an automotive high side switch that is meant for 12V automotive applications.
3.3V is not supportable for the device.
If a current limiting power distribution switch is required please take a look at our load switch portfolio here:
https://www.ti.com/power-management/power-switches/load-switches/products.html
I would look at devices like TPS22950-Q1. For best support on these devices, please ask a new question on e2e with TPS22950-Q1 tagged.
Thanks,
Shreyas
Hi Sobin,
This is not a 3.3V switch. 3.3V DC is not supported.
Thanks,
Shreyas
Hello Shreyas,
I am a bit confused
In the datasheet screenshot mention above its says wide operating range from 3 to 28,What i thought was VBB of this IC can be 3 to 28V am i right ?
But it the recommended operating condition table
its 3.5 to 18
So i am confused.
Hi Sobin,
The wide operating range is to account for automotive transients like cold crank and start stop conditions. The nominal operating range is between 3.5V and 18V for this reason. Since in normal conditions, the battery voltage will not be as low, all electrical characteristics are defined from 6V onwards
3.3V is lower than the minimum recommended operating range and can result in UVLO turn off especially in the event of loading the rail. Therefore we recommend the use of our load switch devices for DC 3.3V rails.
The logic level compatibility means that you can control the device with 1.8V, 3.3V or 5V signals.
