What are the side effects of choosing different PWM dimming resolutions (bits) 10-bit and 16-bit?

I supposed that the resolution is depending on the requirement from Car OEM.

And for 16-bit resolution, the dimming ratio is higher than 10-bit resolution.

I understand that except for the requirements of the car manufacturer, we are adjusting from 10bit to 16bit. Do we need to consider other aspects of the design that require special attention to avoid side effects?
