Hi guys,

Our products need to pass the IEC61000-3-2 harmonic standard. About 1000W PFC is preferred. Due to the space limited, is there any classic PFC IC with only one channel recommended(not the Interleaved)? it is good to have existing PFC evaluation board so that we can buy and test.

Hello Huang,

I would recommend the UCC28180 since it is a single-phase CCM controller. This controller can be used in your 1kW application, as shown below in page 1 of the UCC28180 datasheet. This will have the smallest size due to its high 250kHz max switching frequency.

While we do not have an EVM that you can order with the UCC28180 (the UCC28180EVM is only 360W), we have many reference designs that demonstrate the UCC28180 in >1kW applications. Below are a few reference designs that are high power.

Hi Wong,

Thanks for your good information. Now we ordered the UCC28180 evaluation board for testing and started to design the PFC design based on the TIDA-0043 document. At present, we faced a tough problem in purchasing the PFC boost inductor from Wurth Electronik 750342810. It is a customized part and there is no stock everywhere. Does TI have any recommended alternative so that we can move the design forwards?
