how to change TUSB1046evm 'S PD to PDO2

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65982, TUSB1046EVM, TPS65981

i have a TUSB1046evm, the default PDO is PDO1, so how to change to PDO2,  since the PD chip TPS65982 can have these PDOs, thanks.

  • Hi,

I am not sure what PDOs are supported in the TPS65982 that is on this EVM so I would suggest creating a new binary that supports higher PDOs through the TPS65981_2_6_7_8 Application Customization 6.1.4 GUI and use a SPI flash tool to program the SPI flash.

    Regards

  • Hi Tommy,

    thank you for your support.

base on the TPS65982's datasheet 10.2.2.1.1, it support PDO1,PDO2,PDO3 but in some conditions,

    so can you

    1. give me the link and guide for TPS65981_2_6_7_8 Application Customization 6.1.4 GUI and use a SPI flash tool to program the SPI flash

    2. if this upgrade can not change to PDO2 in TUSB1046EVM board, can i change back to original state PDO1?

  • Hi

Before flashing a new configuration to TPS65982, I would suggest you to use a PD sink to try and sink a 10V PDO to confirm the original TPS65982 configuration.

If this does not work please go to this link to download the GUI, there is also an user's guide in the same webpage.

There should be an SPI debugger header on the EVM, using any SPI flash tool should have no problem programing the SPI flash.

    Regards
