TPS25200: efuse selection for protection 5v circuit

Hi,

This is the detail circuit after eFuse. It's resistor network with swithes combination as analog resistor sensor.

It's used to realise the same function as digital potentiometer, but it's more precise and cheaper.

So, the voltage go through eFuse maybe any voltage 0~5V. It may not meet the eFuse VIN requirement.

Typical voltage is 5V at eFuse VIN right? eFuse can work here. When VIN=0 then eFuse will be off and downstream circuit will be cut off from supply. This is what you want right?

I think it can work. eFuse has overvoltage protection feature. You can set OVLO threshold above 5V say 6V. Whenever VIN crosses 6V eFuse will turn off and output side is isolated from input side.

But eFuse will not work when analog sensor side getting lower resistor value.

It means the VIN voltage could be very low, such as 0.5V.

If it is expected that eFuse is on when VIN is 0.5V then eFuse can not work here. We are seeing if load switch can work here. They can support lower voltages. www.ti.com/.../products.html
