TPS92520-Q1: Is there slope compensation in this device?

Part Number: TPS92520-Q1

Hello expert,

A slope compensation should be added in case of duty cycle greater than or equal to 50%, to avoid subharmonic oscillations.

So is there slope compensation in this device? I can't find any information from the datasheet.

  • Additional question, if the device stop switching the MOSFET due to some protection such as OPT. Will the device do the soft start again when exit the protection and restart the switching?

  • Hello Zhiyuan,

This part does use slope compensation but this part is also a simple single pole system because it regulates the current directly from the inductor.  This is covered in the datasheet.

I don't know what is OPT?  If the part experiences either HS ILIM, LS ILIM, or thermal shutdown then the COMP capacitor is discharged which forces a soft start.
