BQ25720: BQ25720

Hi Tiger,

My application load current  ISYS=7A + IBAT=3.4A =11.4A.Also i need autonomous charging when AC adapter connected without notebook is powered ON..Suggest any solution. It seems BQ25710 have input current limitation  which is 19V @3A..Request you  to suggest a solution.

BQ25720 has been used in notebook applications.

It is possible charging the battery without pressing power button using BQ25720 (direct charging without host interference).If it is used in notebook means what is the solution to meet the requirement.

Unfortunately, BQ25720 could not operate as a standalone charger, it typically interfaces with a host controller for a complete charge control.  You can take a look at BQ24620.

I consolidate my requirement  
Application : 12 inch tablet

Isys =7A

Battery = Li-ion 14.4V ,6.8Ah ,98Wh with SMBus

IBAT -3.4A
Total = 7+3.4=11.4A max

Charging requirement : 

Charging time : < 5hours

We are having a MCU with SMBus  to monitor battery parameters.

BQ25710- Having AUTO_WAKEUP_EN- 1b default during POR but having support 19V @3A AC adapter only.(65W)

BQ25720- 19V @10V max support(144W). But AUTO_WAKEUP_EN- 0b default  during POR. 

Charging should be performed even power switch is off without host intervention.-  we Need a solution.

Thanks for your reply.

BQ25710 automatically charges  battery with default current values when AC/DC adapter  inserted without Power ON the notebook.(without host MCU intervention in SMBus) am i right?

Charging requirement :
