Hello 

I have a question regarding the Supply Voltage Range of TPS1HB08A-Q1. In Chapter 7.3 Recommended Operating Conditions, two Supply Voltage Ranges are mentioned:

- VBB Nominal supply voltage 6-18 V

- VBB Extended supply voltage (2) 3-28 V

Note 2 for the extended supply voltage range: "(2) Device will function within extended operating range, however some parametric values might not apply" but there are no further information which parametric values don't apply. 

Since I want to use this chip in a 24V supply, I would like to know which parametric values don't apply at this voltage.

    Hi Kevin,

    We do not recommend using this device for a DC 24V system. It cannot handle the 24V automotive transients of load dump. 

    At 24V, the device can only support transient events like the load dump pulse and ISO pulses.

    There is no protection guaranteed like current limit or short to GND after 18V.

    We recommend using TPS1HTC30-Q1 which is rated for 24V transients like the 60V load dump.
