UCC28070: UCC28070

Part Number: UCC28070
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP40261

Hi....

Can I get the newer version of schematic Altium or OrCAD Schematic file for UCC28070 Interleaved PFC... Thanks

  • Hello Dr. Glenn,

Can you specify which circuit using UCC28070 it is for which you are requesting a schematic file?  Is it for the 300-W EVM, or some other design?
Also, what do you mean by "...newer version...", please?  Do you already have an older version schematic and discovered that some changes have been made since then?

    Regards,
    Ulrich

  • Thanks for your information.... We are planning to build 4kW PFC with UCC28070. We didn't find any schematic design for 4kW with UCC28070. Already we got 2kW older version schematic and we just take that as a reference... Please suggest the schematic circuit for building 4kW PFC with UCC28070. Thanks

  • Hello Dr. Glenn,

Only one reference design comes up on my search: PMP40261 which is a semi-bridgeless design but nowhere near 4kW.

On the other hand, a reference design is for reference. It can be used as the basis for any power level simply by scaling the power and control elements and adjusting the compensation for its control.

The schematic for a 4kW PFC is the same as the schematic for a 2kW PFC; only the component values are different.  Your own 2kW design can serve as the reference for 4kW, by redesigning for 2X the current through each interleaved phase.  The same previous design method can be followed to generate the new values.

An alternative approach can be to simply parallel two of your existing 2kW units together with the controllers interconnected as shown in Figure 18 (page 8) of the UCC28070 datasheet.  This arrangement will require external synchronization signals to keep the controllers' frequencies the same and at the correct phase shift.  No redesign of the power stage is needed and all of the components are readily available.

    Regards,
    Ulrich
