We are trying to generate a ChemID for an LFP battery and have tried multiple times and have been getting wildly incorrect results, with results that give Lithium cobalt matches. Can best practices be shared for chemid identification? I have also noted in manuals that one can send cells to TI for chem ID generation and matching.

Hi Ninad,

To upload a file, at the bottom of the text box click insert -> Image/video/file -> click upload under the box and select the file you want.

Hi Ninad,

After reviewing your input data, there appears to be an error in your learning cycle after the battery is fully charged and finished relaxing.

A correct learning cycle would look closer to this.

Another issue is that the columns listed in your config file to do not line up with the excel file.

Thanks! I will run the cycle again to match the shape of the profile. The battery pack comes with a Battery Management System (BMS). Do you recommend that we run the learning cycles with the BMS in place, or without the BMS?

Also, the document SLVA725A says the following:

The way I have constructed the file,

The config.txt file appears correct. The Voltage column is the 3rd, current 4th, temp 5th and elapsed time is the 2nd column.

Am I missing something?

Or do I have to rearrange the columns in the order: Voltage > Current > Temp > Elapsed Time ?

TLDR:

1. Run cycle with BMS or without BMS?

2. Should the columns be rearranged to be in a specific order? Or is the config.txt file wrong?

Hi Ninad,

You are correct about the columns, my mistake.

You can run the cycle with the BMS as long as protection does not get triggered during the learning cycle.
