TPS65983B: TPS65983B

Part Number: TPS65983B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HD3SS460

Hi TI,

I was just granted access to "windows_64bit_TPS65983B_application_customization_3_17".
Our prototype is implemented with Intel TBT3 JHL7440 and TI PD TPS65983B.
We adopted Intel reference design Tapex Creek.
We plug this prototype to a dedicated embedded host device, hence modified the prototype's TBT3 port to become single UFP (instead of dual role).
Our proto is self powered, only transfers data via the TBT3 bus to/fro the host device, hence we do not add host charging to our TBT Type-C port as well.

However, once opening TPS65983B application customization tool, the new project under "UFP" port type filter, I only see 1 option, shown below:
TPS65983b Upstream-Facing Port Only, supports HD3SS460 Mux:
Power and data sink only with no power or data source capabilities. This is a good configuration for simple peripheral devices such as dongles, cell phones or flash drives that require power and expect data to be read from them.

There is no option for self powered, that does not sink any power from the host port.

Appreciate your advice.

thanks
