BQ76942: BQ Chip is not acknowledged on I2C line but still receives data

I can't correctly communicate with my bq76942 chip over I2C. When I start up BQ Studio it doesn't auto detect the chip but when I manually select the model I am still receiving some (completely incorrect) data. So there must be some form of communication going on but to me it seems like the chip isn't on at all since I'm not measure 1.8V over the Reg18 to show its in normal operation mode. 

Any help would be appreciated to bring this back into normal operation thanks.
