Dear Friend!

I have a problem about program the OTP of BQ26100 by using the EV2400+BQ26100EVM.

I can read out all the data of 5 pages OTP, also can read and write about the EEPROM; But I cannot program the OTP.

I use the PORT3 HDQ of EV2400, connected the EV2400 and BQ26100 EVM through pin VSS/VOUT3/SDA (also try VSS/SDA/VOUT4), it cannot program OTP all the time.

I test the VOUT3/VOUT4 by oscillograph druing programing OTP (when click "Write OTP" of the BQ26100 Evaluation Software), the VOUT3/VOUT4 pin always show 0V.

How can I program the OTP area,Plz help me.

Hi Bruce,

The EV2400 is not fully compatible with the BQ26100. It is able to do most functions normally, but it is not able to program OTP. The EV2300 should be fully compatible.

I also recommend double checking that you're following the steps and advice for programming the OTP given in Section 3.2 of the User Guide: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluu244a/sluu244a.pdf.

Cause we cannot buy the EV2300.

Is there any other OTP chipset can program by EV2400,so I can use it instead of BQ26100 ?

As I know, BQ26100 OTP programing need a pulse to enable the 7V in the SDQ line, I think it is a software problem of EV2400 .
How can I ask EV2400 supplier to update a firmware to support BQ26100.

Hi Bruce,

I looked into this further and the EV2400 is not rated for the 7V pulse and would risk damage if the firmware allowed the EV2400 to trigger the pulse.

Aside from the EV2300, an MCU with the correct tolerances could be programmed to write the OTP with the steps given in the datasheet.

If the EV2400 able to make a output pulse by the VOUT3 or VOUT4 pin,it can control the BQ26100EVM to make a 7V pulse in the SQ during programig the OTP. I think it is very easy by change the EV2400 firmware to make a pulse in the VOUT3/VOUT4 ,I dont know why it dont support for BQ26100 (make a pulse)

I have found a EV2300 and I can program the OTP of BQ26100.

Unfortunately, the EV2400 is simply not able to support generating the pulse.
