I am working a space system project that needs a linear regulator with the following characteristics:

Vout = 1.5 volts

Vin = 3.3V

Iout = 4.5A to 5A

Dropout voltage <= 200 mV with I Load = 750mA

Low noise: Noise <= 50 uV rms (10 kHz - 100 kHz) for Vout = 5V

Low Quiescent Current

Space Quality / Qualifiable to Class V requirements IAW MIL-PRF-38535

Radiation Hardness >= 50 krads (Si) to 100 krads (Si)

LET: > 45 MeV-cm^2/mg

Hi David,

We have 3 LDOs that would meet all your requirements with the exception of total IOUT, so we would need to parallel them to provide the full load. We do have design guidance on parallel LDO configurations in the datasheets, as well as in the following Technical Papers:

If noise (and PSRR) are your main focus then the TPS7H1111-SP will be the highest performer.

All 3 devices are rated for up to 100 krad TID and at least 75 MeV-cm^2/mg, and have options that are QMLV qualified. The SMD and radiation reports are provided on the device web page.
