Hello Shoo,
No, it is recommended to connect SRN to Pack-.
Sincerely,
Nick Richards
Hello Nick,
GNDSEL (Bit 2) in Operation Config A can enable the use of SRN as GND for the ADC conversions. and ADC renge is -0.125 to 0.125.
Is there any concern if we set SRN as GND?
Regards,
Shoo
Hello Shoo,
No, it is perfectly fine to have SRN as GND.
Sincerely,
Nick Richards
Hi Nick,
in accumulator mode, If current register is minus, It doesn't affect AccumulatedCapacity()?
Regards,
Shoo
Hey Shoo,
When in accumulator mode, the Accumulated Capacity register is increasing when the battery is discharging. The increase is based on the coulomb counter.
Sincerely,
Nick Richards
Hi Nick,
Possibly the Accumulated Capacity register is decreasing ?
Regards,
Shoo
Hey Shoo,
No, the Accumulated Capacity register should not decrease. So the register is increasing when the battery is discharging. Therefore, when the battery is charging the register should decrease. However, this gauge is to be used only with primary (non-rechargeable) batteries. Therefore, the battery should never be charged thus the Accumulated Capacity register should never decrease.
Sincerely,
Nick Richards
Hi Nick,
I mean if the small reverse current happen,
the Accumulated Capacity register would be decreasing ? bcz they are capaple of detecting charging current which means avg current register can have minus value.
My customer concern it might affect the measurement accuracy and it shouldn't have minus value.
Do you know the reason why this device can detect charging current? using same IP as rechargable battery?
regards,
Shoo.
Hello Shoo,
Yes, it uses the same IP as rechargeable batteries and yes, if there is a charge current then the register would decrease. However, if it is just very small reverse current for a short period of time then it would have a very minimum affect on measurement accuracy, which should not be a concern for a non-regular occurrence of reverse current.
Sincerely,
Nick Richards
