BQ25176J: Load sharing, how does it work?

Part Number: BQ25176J
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24075

My load is 500mA, and wanna charge the battery using 100mA.

Should I use ISET which results in an ICHG = 600mA ?

What if my load is lowered to 100mA, will then the "spare" current 500mA go to the battery (which is undesirable) ?

Bill J -- Yes the spare 500mA will go to battery.

With a non power path charger the load and battery current will be the same.

A power path charger similar to BQ24075 would allow control of the Battery and Load current separately.
