TPS7B7701-Q1:About SENSE in TPS7B7701QPWPRQ1

Part Number: TPS7B7701-Q1

  • Hi,

I would like to make sure that my perception of TPS7B7701QPWPRQ1 SENSE is correct.

Since the SENSE output voltage is pulled up between 2.4~2.56V when a short-circuit condition is detected,

the SENSE output voltage during the short-circuit condition is typically 2.55V,

but the SENSE output voltage before the short-circuit condition is determined by the output current Iout?

  • Hi Takasaki-san,

You are correct. When there is no short-circuit or current limit condition, the SENSE output voltage depends on the load current in the respective channel and the size of the RSENSE resistor. When the channel reaches current limit, the SENSE voltage latches to 2.55V (typical) until the current limit condition is removed.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Nick-san,
    Thanks for the answers.
    This solved the problem.
I will contact you if there is anything else.
