TPS61094: battery connected to SUP pin

Is it possible to use a battery in place of supercap for TPS61094 SUP pin.

Hi Prasanna,

Of course it is ok to use, but please make sure that the charging accuracy is acceptable for your battery.

Generally charging battery has higher precision requirements compared with charging supercap.

What type of battery can be used NiMH or Li-Ion etc..

What about battery discharge. Will battery get discharged till UVLO of SUP pin.

Hi Prasanna,

It's related the specific battery you used, hard to provide a general conclusion... You can refer to the spec of your battery.

About the discharge, your understanding is correct, TPS61094 doesn't have over discharge protection for battery.
