TPS6287B10: Thermal pad pin define

Hi Team,

May I know the circled pin(thermal pad) in layout should connect to GND? Or it didn't need to connect any pin?

Also, may I know why the thermal pad is divided into three part instead of one big thermal pad?

Hi Roy,

Yes, you must connect the thermal pads to GND and we recommend using vias to get the heat out:

There is probably a manufacturing reason for having multiple pads, and this is common with larger packages.
