Hi Alex,
Thank you for posting. Do you mean the VIN pin is shown grounded? Please check the following components.
1. if NTC2 is open?
2. If any input capacitors is short?
3 if F4 is open?
4. If L4 is open?
5. If anything else placed across 36V-IN node and GND is short?
If all of above do not fail, then the IC is damaged. Which can occur during mishandling like ESD strike. Replace the IC and pay attention to avoid ESD damage.
Thanks,
Youhao
Hi Alex,
Sorry I am confused. What to you mean by "many short part back to FA"?
If Vout shorts to GND, it will either be an PCB error, or the IC is damaged.
Can you remove the IC and recheck these spots, to see if there is an PCB error?
Thanks,
Youhao
Hi Alex,
Do you mean those modules were failed on arrival, before they were installed on customer's boards, or they failed after operating for sometime on the boards? Is there any FA report (email me the QEM numbers)?
Thanks,
Youhao
