UCC5870-Q1: Request for USB Driver Software for UCC5870QDWJEVM-026 Evaluation Module

Part Number: UCC5870-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC5880-Q1

I am writing to seek assistance regarding an issue with the UCC5870QDWJEVM-026 evaluation module. Specifically, I am encountering difficulties in connecting it to the GUI on my PC. Despite several attempts, the module is not being detected by the computer.

After some troubleshooting, I suspect that there might be a requirement for a USB device driver to facilitate the connection between the evaluation module and my PC. However, I have been unable to locate the necessary driver through my own efforts.

In light of this, I kindly request your support in providing the USB driver software for the UCC5870QDWJEVM-026 evaluation module, if indeed such a driver is required for proper functionality. If possible, could you please furnish me with the link or instructions on where to download this driver?

Your prompt assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Deepak,

Thanks for reaching out. All the required equipment is part of the download package.

Have you taken a look at the user guide for the EVM. There are steps there to set up the EVM and the GUI. The GUI requires the GUI composer Runtime v7.4.1. Have you downloaded that? If not, it can be found in the user guide: www.ti.com/.../sluuc64.pdf

Also please note that the device must be powered up for it to work. Is the MCU connected to the EVM correctly?

When you enable the power supplies, you can click on options and choose a different serial port. This may also fix the connection issue.

One more thing I want to add is that we now have the next generation SPI driver: UCC5880-Q1. We build up on the previous version, with a smaller package and added features to improve the overall SPI ease, configurability and efficiency/safety improvements. We have also added a complex device driver to simplify the integration of the MCU and the device for AUTOSAR and NON AUTOSAR controllers. Under the UCC5880-Q1 product page, you can click on the "Request more" option and will get access to all the information.

I highly recommend designing in with the UCC5880-Q1.

    Regards,

    Akshat
