TLC59108F: LED ON/OFF function vs PWM signals

Part Number: TLC59108F

Hello,

I'm considering using a TLC59108F device for driving leds. I need to use it as ON/OFF driver, and I've seen this driver was using 2 separates PWM signals to set brightness and dimming. Therefore, for my ON/OFF application, I need to ensure that this ON/OFF is not performed by PWM signal (considering a 99,6% duty cycle is ON), but with a permanent signal to force the output driver to be continiously ON or OFF. Could you confirm that programming the LEDOUT0 & LEDOUT1 registers with "0x00" and "0x01" values gives a continious and permanent OFF or ON output?

Best regards,

Rémi

  • Hi Remi,

My understanding is that you need analog dimming, not PWM dimming, right?

Based on the description on datasheet, you can control the output continuously on or off by programming the LEDOUT0 and LEDOUT1.
