TPS563257: VIN-VSW transient voltage rating spec

Part Number: TPS563257

Hi Team,

In TPS563257 datasheet it have SW-GND transient voltage spec as below. But I didn't see Vin-Vsw transient voltage spec? Could you let me know what's the Vin-Vsw transient voltage spec?

Best Regards,

Roy

  • Hi Roy,

Vin-SW spec is not supported in datasheet. I would recommend customer can check VIN-GND and SW-GND according to the recommend operating condition table in datasheet. Actually, when LS (low side) FET on, VIN is almost HS (high side) Vds voltage which means that VIN is corresponding to the Vds of HS FET.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Lucia,

I mean VIN-VSW voltage rating during the transient time, and since it didn't shows in datasheet so I have 2 questions, could you answer me?

    1. The VIN-VSW voltage at any condition (contain transient)must <17V since we didn't have a clear data

    2. What's the VIN-VSW minimum voltage rating during transient < 20ns? Since when high side MOS turn on moment it will have a negative voltage at high side MOS then back to IDS * RDS(on), so if didn't have this rating how can I know if the high side VDS is negative voltage spice waveform is ok or not?

    Best Regards,

    Roy

  • Hi Roy,

Let me check your question and get back to you before next Monday. Thanks!

  • Hi Roy,

VIN - SW should be VIN max-(-low side FET body diode drop) which should be less than ~19V (ABS) during low side FET body diode on. For transient, if VIN and SW are both good and not over the specs which are specified in datasheet, it would be OK. You can also share me SW waveform to double check.

    Thanks!
